Recruiting a project team to the City of Maths
The City of Maths is a multi-year cultural intervention, incorporating events, activities and broader schemes – with the dual objectives to improve maths education and opportunities, and to enhance cultural attitudes around maths.
We will lead the project building on our existing work in Leeds through MathsCity. We have developed a programme, informed by stakeholder engagement and expert input from maths educators and communicators.
We are recruiting a project manager and an events manager. Please get in touch if you are interested. The application closing date is 4th July.

There is more information about the nature of the activities here:
We will be working with partners including:
● Local sports teams such as Leeds Rhinos, who work with communities across the city as part of their Leeds Rhinos Foundation charity.
● The University of Leeds, which has one of the largest mathematics research departments in the UK, and a well-established outreach programme.
● Leeds City Council (LCC) and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA).
● LeedsBID, who are highly experienced in developing ambitious, creative attractions and large-scale, widely publicised events in the city.
The overall goal of the project is to transform attitudes towards maths for a broad cross-section of children and young people in Leeds, supported by equipping their parents and teachers with
mathematical confidence and skills, as well as raising the profile of maths locally and elsewhere. If this fits with your value, please get in touch.
